The
8th Car:
Dining Car
SYMPHONY
SYMPHONY was
originally a 16 section Pullman sleeping car (built to Pullman plan
2412C in 1914) named WANAKENA. As the need for sleeping cars changed,
WANAKENA was rebuilt as a dining car to Pullman plan 4004. It lost
its name and was given the number "22".
For the Rexall
Train, a long service counter was added under Pullman plan 4004A.
The car got its
name from Rexall's line of fine stationery.
After the Rexall
tour the car went to the Atlantic Coast Line as diner #9.
