The
7th Car:
Lecture Car #1
KLENZO
Originally 36-seat
Pullman parlor car HADLYME (built to Pullman plan 2916C),
this car was stripped of its interior to provide room for as many
as 88 folding chairs during seminars and meetings. After hours the
chairs could be removed to make room for dancing to the music of
the train's 4-piece orchestra. The car got its new name from a line
of Rexall cleaning products.
From this car
back, the train was off limits to the public. This was Rexallite
territory. The remainder of the train was for lecture space, business
meetings, dining and entertainment of Rexall druggists and their
guests.
After the Rexall
tour the car returned to Pullman service as HADLYME, later as Tourist Car 6070. It
was sold to the Missouri Pacific (International-Great Northern) in 1950.
