10537 ELKHART COUNTY

NEW YORK CENTRAL ELKHART COUNTY eventually became RB-146. Orignally built by Pullman-Standard as a 13-double-bedroom sleeper to Plan 4071B car in Lot 6572. Placed in service July 21, 1939. Numbered 10537 ELKHART COUNTY in 1952. Withdrawn from Pullman lease March 20,1967, and sold to Ringling. By February 1969 it was in Venice being converted for circus use. By 1975 it was RB-144 on the Blue Unit Train. By 1977 it was RB-146 on the Blue Unit Train. By 1979 it was still RB-146. Scrapped 1990.
