NORTHERN PACIFIC 490 eventually became RBX 74. Originally built by Pullman-Standard as part of Lot #6982, Plan #7642A, in 1948 as a 14-seat parlor, buffet, 32-seat "Holiday Lounge". Converted to a 48-seat "Day-Night" coach and numbered 584 in 1962/63. To Amtrak 4893 in 1971. To Ringling in 1984. By 1985 it was RBX 40. By 1989 it was RBX 74.

This car is sometimes misidentified as former NP 492, a car that was off trucks and still lettered Amtrak 3352 at Topeka in 2005.
