A diesel-electric locomotive identical to locomotive #1, depicited, roughly, as an SD70ACe -- as envisioned by noted railroad artist and frequent Ross Rowland collaborator Bob Lorenz.

At this early point in its design, the train was called the Greenbrier Limited, not the Greenbrier Express or the Greenbrier Presidential Express.
