The 1980-1981 Chessie Safety Express | Chessie's Safety Express


	Chessie Safety Express Season Two Car #2 Storage & Tape Recording CSE (S1) Storage & Tape Recording Car #2 was formerly CSE (S1) Baggage-Coach Car #2. The car was also Chessie Steam Special (S1) #9 in the 1977 season and CSS (S2) #2 in the 1978 season. The car was reconfigured over the winter of 1977-78. For the second season of the CSE, the car was given a new purpose -- specifically being configured to facilitate audio recording of the locomotive's sounds by passengers. Image: Larry Stiles, 1981.

	Former Delaware & Hudson concessions car #56 "Town of Stillwater", rebuilt in 1973 from D&H railway post office-baggage car 56. . The car was former Denver & Rio Grande Western railway post office-baggage car #1200 built by Pullman Standard in 1950 as part of a C&O order, but redirected to D&RGW. Image: Mary Jayne & John Z.
