Steam Generator
133 / 1133
Some of the
initial generator cars were converted from steam locomotive tenders,
as was # 133.
Former Northern
Pacific steam generator H-4. Built as a locomotive tender for one
of Northern Pacific's Class A 4-8-4 locomotives (all later NP steam
classes had welded tender sides). It was produced by Alco in 1926-27.
Later, the car
was renumbered (at least on paper) to 1133 as an auto-carrier car took its old number.
If
you have a photograph of the car in AT paint you'd like to contribute
-- please email.
