The Minnesota Centennial Train has its official opening in Winona at Levee Park. The Minnesota Centennial Showboat was there too. |

May 13, 1958 |
The train was on display near the parade grounds just north of Linden Ave. Officials arrived by helicopter to open the train in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included an 8-foot long railroad ticket. |

The train was on display at the Minnesota State Fair. Temporary tracks were laid across Como Ave to access the fairgrounds. |

The Minnesota Centennial Train closes after visiting nearly 100 communities and hosting some 630,000 visitors. |
