Four Italian statues, sent as thanks for the Friendship Train: Though not directly related to the French Merci Train, these four statues came to America in response to the same gift -- the 1947 Friendship Train (Friendship Food Train) sent to the people of Europe from the people of the US. The four statues grace the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge and the Arlington Memorial Bridge in Washington, DC.
