Merci Train Boxcar
Located in North
Bend, Oregon along the coast near Coos Bay (not to be mistaken for
the larger city of "Bend" in the middle of the state).

|
It resides in
Simpson Park. Some gifts from the car are in the Coos Historical
& Maritime Museum nearby.
|
|
|
|
The boxcar arrived
in Salem December 12, 1949. It was moved to the grounds of the Flavel
House in Austoria in 1962 and moved to nearby Ft. Stevens State
Park in August 1995. In July 2006 the boxcar was moved to its permanent
home in North Bend along the Oregon coast.

The car is maintained
by Coos County Voiture #316.
