Marlboro Unlimited Train
#4
Baggage Car
A very late addition to the planned train, Baggage Car #4 was to be leased from Amtrak to provide more storage space on the train. It changed the train from a 20 car train to a 21 car train at nearly the last minute. In addition to luggage and supplies, it was to hold fuel for the power car. The image represents a typical Amtrak baggage car of the day, painted to match the rest of the train. The long black plastic skirt depicted on the bottom of the car between the 4-wheel trucks would have appeared on all of the bi-level domed cars of the train -- and might well have been used on the baggage and crew cars for a unified look. Or maybe not.
