Marlboro Unlimited Train
#3
Power/Utility Car

May have been former Northern Pacifc baggage car #433. To contain 2 diesel-powered electrical generators, each producing 820 kilowatts. It was proposed that the locomotives be modified to run power in parallel with the power car.

The power car was partially completed. The height of the car was increased to house the large generators, supply and vent them well, and better match the height of the locomotives. It was not as tall as the domed passenger cars would have been.

Designated 'Contract Car 03' by the builder, Rader Railcar.

By 2007, only five partially contructed cars survived -- as demonstrators for the builder.

This included the power car, two sleepers, a lounge, and the spa car. The sleepers and lounge had substantially completed interiors.
