Marlboro Unlimited Train It was proposed, as the train got longer, that a third locomotive might be prudent. It would likely have been another F59PHI. How it would have been numbered would probably have depended on how it was used. If it were simply added to the train or replaced the power car (#3), it might have been numbered 0003. If it were used to pull a separate train of auto-carriers for the buses and support vehicles, it might have been numbered 0003, or even 0022 -- continuing after #21, the last car on the main train (the Spa Car). Maybe it would have been 0030 to leave numbers 22-29 available for any cars added to the main train in the future. Hard to say. In any event, the idea of a third locomotive didn't get far, but was gaining favor when the project ended. |
