Train of Tomorrow Dome Chair
STAR DUST
The first car of the Train of Tomorrow was an 85' Astra Dome built by Pullman-Standard. The car was configured as a dome coach, part of lot 6780. Plan 7555. Ordered in Nov 1945 and delivered in May 1947. It was a 28-seat coach, 20-seat smoker.

The entire train was sold to the Union Pacific in March 1950. STAR DUST retained its name throughout its life and received the number 7010 in March 1956.
The train's first assignment was as the City of Seattle, traveling between Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. The loco and cars soon went into pool service and were often run with other UP equipment.
STAR DUST was retired Nov 1964 and scrapped by McCartys Inc in Pocatello, ID.
