A Transportation Miracle
XXVIII International Eucharistic Congress
Chicago, June 20-24, 1926
In 2016, the Shore Line Interurban Historical Society published a book covering every aspect of the human logistics that went into bringing 1,000,000 people to the 28th Eucharistic Congress in Chicago, IL -- the first time such a gathering had happened on US soil.
Edited by Norman Carlson, the 99-page book was released as a special issue of the Shore Line Interurban Historical Society's Dispatch newsletter. The book was produced in both a softback and a special hardback edition.
The book details in-depth the Cardinal's Train from New York to Chicago, plus all the local specials and interurban trains that were needed to transport the throngs of congregants visiting the Windy City in the summer of 1926.
