South Carolina Merci Boxcar Pins

The 'Forty and Eight Society' often produces special pins for gatherings and since the 40 et 8 boxcars that made up the Merci Train are the same type that symbolize the veterans association, the Merci boxcars sometimes become nearly synonymous with the organization.

The top pin is from 1983, the bottom 1989 (40th anniversary of the Merci Train).
