Golden Spike Centennial Limited Commemorative Book & Map

The High Iron Company, which ran the Golden Spike Centennial Ltd from NYC to Promontory, issued a very handsome leather-bound commemorative book to those riding the train.

The 52 page book tells about the rebuilding of 759 and the journey of the train to Salt Lake City and back. It also has a large section on the story of the building of the first transcontinental railroad.

It was issued before the trip, so variations in schedule from the actual journey are likely.

The book came with a large map showing the route of the train's journey.

In the two cases where the routes diverge, the upper route is the westbound trip.
