Golden Spike Centennial Limited
Open Air Coach Car

The 13th car on the train was coach car 'Rocky Mountain', an open air car. Ex-Canadian Pacific 597. (HICO purchased it from George M. Hart who purchased it from CP. It was originally CP 1422).

This six-axle car had very tall and broad openings where the windows used to be, making for panoramic viewing of the train, locomotive and scenery enroute. Later the car went to the West Coast Railway Association as their Arbutus Ridge. Today the car is at the Sierra Railway in Jamestown, CA as #597.
