Dome Diner
SKY VIEW

The second car of the Train of Tomorrow was an 85' Astra Dome built by Pullman-Standard. The car was configured as a 52-seat dome diner (18 in the dome), part of lot 6780. Plan 7556. Ordered in Nov 1945 and delivered in May 1947.

The entire train was sold to the Union Pacific in March 1950. SKY VIEW retained its name throughout its life and received the number 8010 in March 1956.

  The train's first UP assignment was as the City of Seattle, traveling between Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. The loco and cars soon went into pool service and were often run with other UP equipment. General Motors Train of Tomorrow  
 

SKY VIEW was retired Feb 1961 and scrapped in 1964 by McCartys Inc in Pocatello, ID.
