Cardinal Special
Ives Standard
Gauge Model

Ives Manufacturing offered their Cardinal Special in 1929, three years after the running of the Cardinal's Train.

This image is from a special pre-catalog folder. The Cardinal Special is the third set from the top, set number 1084.

The Cardinal's Train was pulled out of New York City by a T-2a electric locomotive (out the tunnels from Grand Central Terminal), so the use of an electric locomotive in the Ives set is actually quite accurate!

The set consisted of a number 3242 or 3242R electric locomotive and four 180 series passenger cars.

The set is pictured here, second set down, in the 1929 catalog.
