Cardinal's Train
1st Locomotive:
New York Central
T-2a #1162

The first locomotive to pull the the Cardinal's Train was an electric. Smoke restrictions in the tunnels leading out of New York's Grand Central Terminal dictated that electric locomotives move trains to the outskirts of the city.

T-2a number 1162 was tasked with pulling the Cardinal's Train to Harmon, NY where a steam locomotive took over.

Seen here passing a large crowd of well-wishers at Marble Hill.
